My name is Barbara and Im Dutch but living in Sweden. Growing up in Holland my mother was a seamstress so I was always watching her sew. I used to get her leftovers from her children´s clothing line for girls, but since they were scraps and I wanted to make bigger things the patching of pieces of fabric together started early. I also loved other needle crafts as: embroidery, knitting and crochet. It was in 2002, when I came to live with my mother for a short while after I broke my leg, that I started the real art of patchwork. As my mother was living next to the Petra Prins Patchwork shop in Holland, and that was the only distance I could hop on one leg, I instantly fell in love with patchwork. I´ve been patch working and teaching since.
Pink and Barbara officially started in February 2009 at the Fair in Rijswijk in Holland when I started the pattern side of my business. The response was overwhelming and that gave me the boost to really start this adventure.
